English Learner Advisory Committee

What is an ELAC?

Parent involvement is most successful when it is viewed, practiced and promoted as a partnership between the home and the school.

It is the responsibility of the school to ensure that all students, including EL students, have equal access to a quality education that enables them to progress academically while learning English. An English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC) is a group of parents/guardians of English Learners who advise the principal and school staff on program and services for English Learners.  The ELAC assists the school in monitoring its programs and provides feedback and suggestions on how to improve.
